Telle est l’origine du choix courageux, mais clairement prometteur, d’Andrea Bernardoni et Alexander Neuwahl consistant à parcourir à nouveaux frais les étapes fondamentales de ce parcours

book1st authorCorrespondingLeonardo's Angel in the Flesh went on display for the first time in the great exhibition on Leonardo's Bridges organised by Sweden in order to celebrate its entrance into the European Community in 1993 and 1994. It received much attention by the media, making numerous newspaper headlines. And since it was all too easy to recognize the appearance of the demoniacal Salai - the handsome boy, object of Leonardo's presumed homosexual attentions - in this singular blasphemous image in the nude, the Swedish exhibition was to include another novelty, the counterpart of the same character in the painting of a Dressed-up Salai in the Alos Foundation.

bookSenior authorThis volume collects a series of complex and variously articulated themes that involve on a theoretical and historical basis both the world of architecture and that of urban planning, as well as that of sculpture and of painting. The period here analysed is certainly the most operational for Leonardo, during his frequent movements in the large and complex political, economic, cultural and artistic theatre that was central Italy between 1500 and 1516. It is in this historical and geographical context that the focal points of the research of Starnazzi emerge with spontaneous emphasis: Florence, Cortona-Arezzo, Rome and Amboise where the artist spends the last years of his life, from 1517 to 1519.
