Stephany Elizabeth Lewis is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Zoological Medicine and the Director of the Wildlife Medical Clinic at the Department of Veterinary Clinical Medicine at the University of Illinois. She holds a DVM from Tufts University and a BA in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania. Her professional certifications include being a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Avian Practice. Dr. Lewis's industry experience includes roles as a Staff Veterinarian at the California Wildlife Center and the Ojai Raptor Center, as well as internships in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Michigan State University and in Wildlife and Conservation Medicine at Tufts University. Her academic interests focus on clinical wildlife rehabilitation medicine, with specific expertise in analgesics and anxiolytics in wildlife species, avian orthopedics, and anticoagulant rodenticide toxicosis in birds of prey. She has contributed to research on abnormal buoyancy in a convict cichlid associated with ovarian carcinoma invading the swim bladder.
